For three vital days, The Big 5 Construct 2019 being held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre played host to a wealth of outstanding speakers and exciting features, bringing the world of construction to Nairobi. The official exhibition of Kenya’s National Construction Week was officially opened at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre by Maj Gen (Rtd) Dr. Gordon O. Kihalangwa, Principal Secretary at the State Department of Public Works.

12,000+ ATTEND CERTIFIED EDUCATION

The Big 5 Construct Kenya featured a total 40 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) certified and completely free-to-attend workshop sessions. Covering the most recent and important topics in the industry, the workshops welcomed over 12,000 visitors who each received certificates upon completion.

 

WOMEN IN THE SPOTLIGHT

For the second time in the country, and this time with an expanded agenda, The Big 5 Construct Kenya held the Women in Construction education series to highlight diversity and success stories of the Women pioneering the construction industry in Kenya. The series was made up of 9 sessions covering a wide range of construction-related topics.

DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGY SERIES

Accessible to workshop attendees, experts from Google, Autodesk, AECOM, IBM, Microsoft4Afrika, and more conferred on the latest technology insights from Drone Technology and Artificial Intelligence, to 3D Printing and Digital Design in a bid to help exhibitors and visiting professionals navigate the changed construction landscape.

 

RECORD NUMBER OF MIDDLE EAST PAVILIONS

Supported by their local governments, The Big 5 Construct Kenya this year welcomed a record number of new country pavilions hailing from neighbouring Middle East. An impressive 80% of companies from the region exhibited for the first time.

BRINGING INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTS TO NAIROBI

With exhibitors coming from more than 30 worldwide countries as a whole, such as Egypt, Turkey, Belgium, Greece, and more, The Big 5 Construct Kenya welcomed major construction players keen to do business with local industry stakeholders, and to be a part of the country’s promising construction sector.

INNOVATION DESIGNED TO DRIVE KENYA VISION 2030

Local and international exhibiting companies brought hundreds of innovative products to help reach Kenya Vision 2030 through construction related activity. These were showcased across five dedicated product sectors: Building Interiors, Building Materials & Tools, Building Services, HVAC-R, and Concrete & PMV.

PIONEERING MOBILE APPLICATION OFFERED TO IMPROVE BUSINESS

Exhibitors at The Big 5 Construct Kenya had access to a powerful lead collection app allowing them to capture client data right on their smartphones throughout the event. Over 12,000+ leads were generated and exhibitors coined it as a must-have tool for the next edition of the show.

JCB DANCING DIGGERS BACK TO WOW THE CROWDS

The world-famous dancing diggers performed at The Big 5 Construct Kenya four times a day. A great way to entertain the crowds and to show off the versatility of these mega machines, the dancing diggers were welcomed back in the latest edition.
