CO-LOCATED WITH

The National Construction Authority is mandated to undertake or commission research into any matter relating to the construction industry and disseminate research findings to the stakeholders. Additionally, the Authority encourages the standardisation and improvement of construction techniques and materials, maintains a construction industry information system and provides consultancy and advisory services with respect to the construction industry. In the execution of this mandate, NCA launched the National Construction Research Agenda (NaCRA) with 17 key research areas to be executed in 3 years, commencing in 2015. The items in the agenda seek to provide solutions to the challenges that plague the construction industry, referred to as the “6 Ms”, namely: Money, Methods, Machines, Materials, Manpower and Market. As an outcome of the agenda, the Authority in 2015 came up with the International Construction Research Conference and Exhibition. Originally an annual event, the conference was referred to as ACoRCE in 2015 and 2016. The event is now bi-annual, taking place every two years, and goes by the name ICoRCE, International Construction Research Conference and Exhibition. ICoRCE is a platform availed to the industry for discussing construction research findings as well as showcasing innovations with a view to foster growth and maximum contribution of the construction industry to the economy. The next ICoRCE edition will take place in 2020.
